Planning Approved!

A unanimous Approval of our mixed commercial site at Syke Road, Wigton for Hopes Auctioneers & Land Agents by committee members in today’s Planning Committee.

The scheme is set to boost Wigton’s economy, creating new jobs and be a significant contribution to growth within Cumberland. We have had the pleasure of working with Craig & Joanne on behalf of Hopes to lead and design the project. We are proud to have assisted in creating a scheme that will have such a positive impact to the area. The assistance from the planning officers, Naomi, Alison and Ian helped us to provide a comprehensive application suitable for unanimous approval at committee.

The site spanning over eight hectares will provide local businesses with space for a mix of retail, offices, light commercial and a central hub located between Carlisle, Penrith and Cockermouth, not to mention education space for students studying at Kendal College who can now have lectures held at Hopes. The development has been designed to create a striking appearance, capable of hosting professionals who will be proud to host their businesses at the site, it was important that the design included use of local stone, and green roofs to blend the development into its semi-rural location.

As a Cumbrian practice it is fantastic to deliver projects of this nature that are so often passed to the big city practices, we welcome projects of this capacity as it allows us to further employ local people and help boost our economy.

We look forward to progressing with the technical design stages over the coming months with Hopes.
