Architectural Technologist / Architect

Location: Carlisle, Cumbria

Salary: Circa £25,000 - £45,000 + bonus, Dependent on experience and skillset

As an Architect or Architectural Technologist at Ashwood Design Associates Ltd you will have a senior role within an experienced and motivated team. You will be the primary contact for clients and overseeing their projects across a variety of sectors including bespoke residential, master planning, and commercial / industrial projects.

The ideal candidate will be expected to oversee multiple projects with minimal assistance from directors, have excellent technical and project running skills. The position would best be suited to an individual who is motivated by achieving excellence through their passion for the role.

Skills & experience required:-

  • Have a Degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture or equivalent

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years' professional experience

  • Accreditation with CIAT or RIBA/RIAS

  • Strong design flare and excellent attention to detail and technical abilities

  • Experience managing/overseeing a project team

  • Experience working as contract administrator

  • Knowledge of the CDM regulations

  • Be AutoCAD literate, Revit experience is advantageous

  • Have good project management and organisation skills - ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from RIBA stage 0-7

Duties & responsibilities include:-

  • Monitor quality, costs, and deadlines throughout the design & construction process

  • Prepare and present design proposals using CAD, sketchup & traditional methods

  • Responsibility for the client and their project

  • Liaise with external members of the wider design team, taking a lead role

  • Manage all H&S responsibilities

  • Liaise with local planning, building control departments and other statutory bodies involved with all projects

  • Attend regular site meetings with clients, contractors and other specialists involved

  • Contribute to the overall running and development of the business
